How to Solve No Ink Problem of Pen ? –GD-5 Plasma Cleaner

GD-5 plasma cleaner is with 5 L plasma chamber and 40 kHz IF power supply. The chamber is Φ150*280(D)mm with a tray 230(L)*120(W) mm. GD-5 plasma cleaner is laptop and can be all-round treatment the irregular products with different size. It is widely apply for R&D in university , research museum and small industry production.

Today we share a success case about GD-5 plasma cleaner how to solve the no ink problem of pen. Pen’s ink has the characteristics of smooth writing, smooth feel, and bright thread. These advantages bring a good writing experience, the secret is the excellent control of the amount of ink. Therefore, the requirement of the pen is not only to ensure the fully stable amount of ink output, but also to prevent the risk of ink leakage caused by low ink viscosity.

It is important for ensure the stable amount of ink output. In this respect, the pen is compared to the neutral pen, the difference is that the pen depends more on the ink regulator (pen tongue) to adjust the ink output, while the neutral pen is directly from the ink through the pen head. So the key to the pen steadily is the tongue.

Most of the pen tongue is made of plastic, and the main function is to stabilize and smoothly transport the ink from the ink cartridge (or magazine) to the nib, and serve as the fixed base of the pen tip. Therefore, the tongue needs to have a good hydrophilic, in order to stabilize the ink to the pen. The surface shape of the tongue is very uneven. The traditional production process is to pickling chemical agents to remove pollutants and improve the surface hydrophilic. However, the long-term use of chemical agents will not only pollute the environment, the strong pungent odor will also have a serious impact on the human body, and due to the current domestic environmental protection requirements, in the near future, these highly polluting processes will be abandoned. In this product processing, we use the automatic cleaning mode of plasma equipment. This mode  is simple and convenient to operate. After pressing the start button, the equipment will automatically complete the cleaning, without manual operation.

We examined the hydrophilic of the pen tongue after plasma treatment. Due to the particularity of the shape of the pen tongue, we chose to test it through the needle tube drip. The results show that the plasma treatment tongue, the surface of the droplets can spread along the surface speed diffusion, and without plasma treatment tongue, needle injection beads still stand on the surface, only a slight signs of diffusion around.

Through this test, we can conclude that the plasma surface treatment can effectively improve the hydrophilic of the pen tongue surface, and make the pen ink more stable, writing more smooth and continuous ink.
